Transportation strikes are common in Italy.  They are announced in advance to provide passengers an opportunity to plan accordingly.  These dates are the most up to date, as of April 29th.  Expect interruption to rail services on:

May 1- (Holiday)

May 4-Rail strike nationwide

May 9-10 Local strike Sorrento/Pompeii

May 11 - Air strikes Nationwide**

May 15-16 National rail & maritime**

May 20 - Local rail strike in Naples region

May 29 - Nationwide rail strike. Trains will stop on May 28th at 9pm, and will resume at 9pm on May 29th.
